If you’ve been following along with my posts for the last few months, you’d know that I’ve been wearing Kismet Cosmetics lipsticks in just about every post. I’ll be honest, that was not on purpose! I would just grab whatever lipstick I felt would work best, and then realize later 9 times out of 10 I was using my Kismet colors! I wanted to do a full on review and let you know a little more about the company, and why I am particularly in love with these lipsticks.
If someone took my makeup bag and said, “Okay Jackie, you can only have three lipsticks for the whole year, which three are you going to choose?” I would 100% pick these three. “Vino”, “Naked Gypsy”, and “Vivianna”. They’re ALL YOU NEED! A vampy, sexy red. A nude that can be layered with other colors or just glossed over for a natural look. A fun purple-y magenta. These colors are the ones I find myself grabbing almost always.
Kismet does carry other colors though so if you are a blonde or brunette you should try their “Burnout” red or their “Crushed Coral”, because those colors look AMAZING too and I just don’t think I can pull them off with my red hair. So you guys go ahead and I’ll live vicariously through you.
My #1 favorite of the bunch if I had to choose. It is a deep, gorgeous siren red. I don’t want to just go on about color though you guys, because the REAL reason I wear these so often is their consistency and texture. I have other reds that are similar in color, (Mac “Sin” is almost the exact same color) but I will choose this one over them any day because of how easily it glides on and stays on. It isn’t matte, but it isn’t super glossy either. I can apply it so easily and it is just a dream to wear. No dry, cracky lips. It’s perfect.
I almost think this one should be called “Chameleon” or something. I wear it so many different ways! If I just want to go for a natural, boho look, I wear it alone (like I did in the photo collage above) or with a gloss over it and I’m out the door. OR I wear it layered, like if “Vino” is a little red for my look one day and I need to tone it down, I’ll put a layer of “Naked Gypsy” on top and blend. It goes so well over pretty pinks, it makes them really creamy and natural. I’m constantly finding ways to layer it!
Purple-y, magenta-y, plum. Yum yum yum. This is a daily wear for me. It isn’t too fancy, or too casual, so when I want some color I go for “Vivianna”. Also again I need to mention the consistency, they are SO easy to apply and wear! I don’t need to gloss, I don’t need to do a base coat of lip balm so it won’t dry them out (like I do a lot of other lipsticks). They are very easy to wear all on their own.
(*Isn’t it funny you can SEE how much I’ve worn them, especially “Vino”!? Its already got that rounded shape because I just wear it all. the. time.)
Kismet Cosmetics are made in the U.S.A. You read that right. That is so rare these days and only one of the reasons I absolutely love their brand. It is a small company which you know I LOVE supporting. I am all about small businesses. I just can’t rave about them enough. There are many reasons I am such a fan of Kismet Cosmetics but the #1 reason is I just love the quality. That’s what it all comes down to. If you don’t truly love something you’re just not going to use and it’ll fall to the bottom of your makeup bag never to be seen again. I can so highly recommend Kismet lipsticks to you because I know them well, and I KNOW you will love them too.
I hope you’re having a great week so far, and make sure you enter the Younique Fiber Mascara giveaway ending on Friday! That’s what I’m wearing in these photos. 🙂
