This is the start of a new monthly blog series: My Favorite Things! Every month I find amazing products that I want to share with you guys but I don’t have a convenient way to do it. This series won’t necessarily be “fashion” items – but a mixture of ALL KINDS of products that I 100% love and recommend. Most of them will be things I own and use, but every once in awhile I’ll throw in a “wish list” item that I’ve heard great things about too. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the “purpose” of this blog and I’m no longer satisfied with just outfit posts and occasional beauty and hair content. I want to be useful and help you find the best products to make your life better and easier. This is just a first step toward that new direction! And don’t worry, my outfit posts aren’t going anywhere. 🙂
I have used this cup religiously since I got it, I’m obsessed! I have one for home and one for work. It keeps ice and liquids cold for HOURS. I also use these straws with the cups, and they fit perfectly. My skin has improved and my weight is more in control when I drink water all day, and that’s mostly thanks to this cup!
‘Intuitive Eating’ by Evelyn Tribole
This is not at all a “diet book” – actually it’s the opposite. The Amazon description says it better than I can, “First published in 1995, Intuitive Eating has become the go-to book on rebuilding a healthy body image and making peace with food. We’ve all been there―angry with ourselves for overeating, for our lack of willpower, for failing at yet another diet. But the problem is not us; it’s that dieting, with its emphasis on rules and regulations, has stopped us from listening to our bodies.”
I may not be overweight, but I’ve always struggled with binge eating and my lack of willpower with food. I haven’t even finished this book yet but I am already a huge fan and highly recommend it for everyone.
I am an avid Doterra essential oil user, so I have a few different diffusers in my home. I use this one in my bedroom (use code ‘jackie’ to get it for half off) because it’s small, however I use this Essential Wellness diffuser in my living room/kitchen area because its HUGE! It can run for hours and hours and my house smells lovely. The price is such a steal too for the size.
Any time I travel, this Anker power bank comes with me. It has saved my buns on so many trips, where I’m using my phone constantly to navigate and take photos and videos. The capacity is amazing too, it can charge my phone probably 3-5 times from DEAD, I love that I don’t have to worry about charging it up every night. The price is really reasonable too for how amazing the quality is. It’s a necessity!
‘Capture Your Style’ by Aimee Song
I have been a big follower of Aimee Song (Song of Style) for a few years now, so when she published a book about perfecting your Instagram game, I was definitely one of the first to pre-order. It contains so many great words of wisdom that can help everyone, from the avid professional, to the personal instagram hobbyist. Such a great, easy gift for the Instagram lover in your life!
This might seem random, but hear me out. I am addicted to self-tanning (my favorites are Loving Tan and St. Tropez) and that can cause some issues. I find the best time to apply self-tanner is at night before bed. It gives the tanner time to develop on your skin if you apply before you go to sleep. Now I have white sheets on my bed, and despite my best efforts with bleach and various stain removers, the self tanner tends to stain my nice white sheets. Problem SOLVED! I got this set of inexpensive black sheets, and just throw them on my bed on the nights that I use my self-tanner! I don’t have to worry about any staining, and I can just take them off and wash them before my next use. I usually apply my self tan every 1-2 weeks, so it’s not really an inconvenience. Plus it saves my nice sheets! The quality is totally fine too – plenty soft for me and for $25 you really can’t complain at all.
If you’re a self-tanner addict like me, you need these!
I know I am a total broken record about the Instant Pot, but I can’t help it! I use mine just about every day. I want everyone to have one! I am not a good cook – mainly because I am really busy and hate the idea of coming home and then having to cook dinner for an hour. With my little Instant Pot there are so many easy meals I can throw in and boom, dinner is taken care of. I actually have THIS Instant Pot, but if I were to do it again I would get THIS one. It just has a few more functions I wish I had. Either way, you NEED one. Just search ‘Instant Pot’ on Pinterest for a few minutes and you’ll be convinced.
‘The Power of Habit’ by Charles Duhigg
The CEO of the company I work for recommended this book to me, and I’ve been forever grateful. It is now one of my favorites ever! I listened to the audio book at first and then bought the paperback book right after so I could go back and reference my favorite parts. It really just breaks down the habits we have and how to change them – and how to be more productive and finally accomplish the things we want to. I LOVE it!
Before I found these I used to use those disposable makeup remover cloths to fix any makeup mishaps and remove my makeup at night. I don’t know where these magic cloths have been hiding, but I am never going back. I have no idea what they are made out of but you add a little water and the makeup just comes right off. I specifically use them to remove my mascara after I wash my face, because it’s hard for me to get it all off with just washing with my normal cleanser. One swipe and it’s gone. I also love that I’m being environmentally friendly because I’m not going through those disposable cloths anymore! They would make a GREAT stocking stuffer too.
I don’t yet own this camera but I hear amazing things about it! I am in the market for an easy point-and-shoot to take on trips, and this one fits the bill. Sometimes it just doesn’t make sense to carry around my big DSLR, so a small quality camera is great for travel. I also love that the screen flips out so you can take selfies and “vlog” style videos easily. It has great ratings and I am just waiting for a sale to pull the trigger!
I hope you enjoyed this November 2016 edition of My Favorite Things! This post isn’t sponsored at all, but it does contain links where I get commission if you buy something. I promise I don’t EVER recommend anything to you guys that I wouldn’t buy myself and really stand behind. The commissions I make just help me continue to blog and bring you great content, so you’re supporting me through posts like this!
Let me know what kinds of things you’d like to see on future lists. More clothing items? More technology? More books? Leave me a comment below and I will definitely listen to your feedback!
Pin this to remember this post! I’ll also be pinning my favorites to THIS BOARD each month.
