Over the past month or so I’ve had the chance to try out some of the best selling products from MHD Cosmetics! It was started by Madison H. Dennis, a professional hair and makeup artist based out of Nashville.
I’ve never really tried makeup from a smaller company like this so I was so excited to give it a try!
First of all their packaging is impeccable. I feel like I’m using products from a huge corporate cosmetics company! I think as a smaller company they are able to really focus on quality and control the look and feel of their products, because I am so obsessed, especially for the price point.
I started out by trying the MHD Hi-Def Foundation in shade N25. Madison herself suggested that color for me just from seeing my photos, and it was SPOT ON! I used their Blender Sponge to apply - just wet it and squeeze any excess water out, and apply all over in a dabbing motion. You get even, flawless coverage that is really build-able.
I then used the MHD Contour Palette (on sale!) to define my nose and do a little bit of contouring on my cheeks and around my face. I’m not big on contouring but this is the perfect palette for a really natural, subtle look. I never feel like it’s too dark or extreme, it’s just the right amount for me and can go on heavy or lighter depending on your application and the look you’re going for.
One of my absolute favorites from the line is this MHD Lipstick in the color Blackberry. I have to be really particular about lip color because of the color of my hair. If I go to cherry red it looks horrible, or too dark I look like a vampire. This perfect deep berry red is EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for.
Also does anyone else hate how lipsticks usually smell? They have that fake, lipstick smell and it just drives me nuts. I can’t even wear them if I can smell it - luckily MHD lipsticks contain natural vanillin extract so it smells so yummy, really subtly but almost like a cookie!
So I guess basically you can tell that I have loved getting to use MHD cosmetics these past few weeks! I absolutely love that they’re a smaller, reasonably priced brand, but with even better quality than most expensive cosmetics I usually use! It pretty much blew my mind, I really didn’t know what to expect.
Another thing you need to know is that all of their products are paraben-free, non-comedogenic, hypoallergenic, allergy and sensitivity-tested, and fragrance free. People with skin sensitivities and allergies - you need to be ON THIS!
GUESS WHAT?! Madison was kind enough to offer my readers 10% off their purchase with code ‘littlejstyle‘! I always love new makeup products around Christmas, they make such great stocking stuffers too.
I really love these products and I know you will too!
xoxo
