Anniversary Trip to San Francisco Recap

As of June 20th I have been married for 4 years.
How did that happen?! I have no idea.
What I do know is that I made a stellar choice in marrying my husband. :)
To celebrate this milestone we decided to go on a little vacay to one of our most favorite cities…
San Francisco!
We’ve been once before and did all the touristy things and saw the popular spots, so this time we just wanted to relax and do some things we maybe didn’t get to do last time.

Not surprisingly much of the trip revolved around food. Our very first stop was of course the wharf for shrimp sandwiches and clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl! And we got some entertainment when some gentlemen started dancing to the music of the street musician.
(See my Instagram video of that here!)
(Oh and we had to kick the seagulls away because they will straight up come after your food.)

There was a farmers market that happened to be going on while we were there and I loved it!
Fresh produce, jewelry, art. What more could you want?
And of course we couldn’t pass up Chinatown!!
We’re such suckers for that place.
Tons of trinkets, fresh fruit and veggies for cheap, all kinds of Chinese candies, tiny shops where you can get 4 crab rangoons for $1.50… it’s a good time.
He’s just the most handsome thing I’ve ever even SEEN.
Oh and Chocorooms are yummy.
OF COURSE there was a world famous doughnut shop 5 minutes from our hotel…
Rolling Pin Doughnuts. If you are in the area YOU HAVE GOT TO GO.
I recommend the cherry danish that is the size of my head.
Or really just anything because we went almost every day we were there and not a single one we tried was anything less than DELECTIBLE.
(Dangit, now I’m craving them.)
Oh and I shouldn’t have even bothered to do my hair, because I walked outside and it would just get ransacked by the wind and humidity and it ended up being a disaster no matter what.
(But San Fran is worth it.) :)
Next stop, JAPANTOWN!
We really wanted to try authentic, raw sushi because you really can’t get it here in Utah. It’s always at the very least steamed to avoid bacteria issues, but in San Fran they just pull it from the ocean and put it on your plate!
We loved it.
We also wanted to stick our toes in the ocean even though it was overcast and foggy so we went to Baker Beach.
And it wasn’t raining so much as misting… like it wasn’t raining down droplets but just misting you constantly.

We had so much fun frolicking on the beach and exploring the rocks.
Happy anniversary babesy!
xoxo
