When hubs and I got married we inherited a mattress from my family (an old guest room mattress). We’ve been married for over 6 years now and a few months ago started to realize that we weren’t sleeping as well as we usually do. We’d flipped the mattress and all that, but it still wasn’t cutting it. Our old mattress was probably over 10 years old so we decided it had to go. Did you know a king size mattress can easily run over $1,000? And that’s for an inexpensive one… ?
I had seen Tuft & Needle on my Instagram feed so I did some research, and then I saw their PRICES. Their full on king size mattress is only $750! That is a lot of money, but not when you think about how important your mattress is. Sleep is KEY to almost every aspect of life - so you really have to think of it like an investment. When I saw their prices compared to a conventional spring mattress as well as a million raving customer reviews, it was a no brainer.

The Tuft & Needle mattresses are unique - totally different from your conventional spring mattresses of the past. Our king size mattress arrived on our doorstep in a box (picture below) vacuum sealed in plastic. We cut the plastic and arranged it on our bed frame, and then waited a few hours for it to decompress… think of a kind of memory foam material (but more advanced).
*Side note about our bed frame. I did a ton of research because I was SO sick of box springs. I didn’t get why you need them, and it turns out you don’t need them for a foam type of mattress. I was SO happy to hear that, and promptly got this frame on Amazon so I can store boxes underneath it! I’m ALL about having extra storage. It’s a great height and I totally recommend it.
On our very first night on the mattress I think both hubs and I were a little skeptical. We’d never really slept on this kind of mattress - it’s sort of a foam feel and we both tend to like different things. I like a soft mattress, he likes more firm support. WE SLEPT LIKE BABIES. We both woke up after a very comfortable sleep and never looked back. Really, truly - we love Tuft & Needle!
