I was asked by Boohoo to create an outfit based on a past style icon that I’ve always been inspired by as part of their #TBT project.
I went into the task by perusing their website and as soon as I saw this snake printed jumpsuit I immediately thought of Farrah Fawcett and her iconic 70’s style, and chose her as my inspiration! After I chose the jumpsuit I had to find the perfect accessories to go with it, so a grey fedora and fringe backpack were perfect additions. Farrah was the classic California girl in the 70’s with her bell bottoms, jumpsuit, and classic hairstyle. She is a huge inspiration to me and sometimes I really think I would have thrived in her era.
I know sometimes my style is hard to peg, and at first I was conflicted about that… Should I try to streamline my style so my readers know pretty much what kind of things I wear and what they can expect? I talked to my friend Brittany about it and she helped me realize that I should stick to what I’ve been doing because it really truly reflects my style. Some days I really feel more bohemian, drawn to fringe and floppy hats, and bell bottoms as big as they make them. Then other days I feel like I want to wear something more preppy, maybe a pencil skirt or a collared blouse- or a feminine dress. So I DO it. I dress according to how I feel at a certain time, not based on a blog readership or a certain style I think people will like. Anyways I just wanted to throw that out there, in case you read my blog and say, “What in the heck is her style, she’s all over the place?!” It’s just how I like to dress, so I hope you enjoy my blog and we can still be friends.
