I thought I’d throw together a quick post all about my Barefoot Blonde extensions! You guys have asked me about them a few times so I figured let’s answer some questions and let’s talk about it.
I now have THREE sets and have been so happy with the quality - I thought I’d show you guys some before and after photos, and let you know how my experience has been.
In the above photo I was wearing the Barefoot Blonde Classic Clip-Ins in “Autumn”, back when my hair was red and long. The length of the Classic extensions is 21″ which is a great length because my hair was almost as long as the extensions, but I still get the fullness and flexibility for hairstyles and whatever else I want to do. You also have the option to take them to your hairstylist and have them fully blended and trimmed, but I’ve personally never done that.
In the below photo I’m wearing NO extensions at all, just for reference:
In the below photo I am wearing the Classic Clip-Ins in ‘Sweet Cola’. Since I went back to my brunette roots, I had to get new extensions to match. My hair is MUCH shorter now too, so blending them is a bit more tricky. My favorite way to blend them is to curl or wave my hair WHILE the extensions are in - so the curls all go together and it hides them much better.
Both of my sets of “Classic” extensions, meaning 21″ clip-ins are the older Barefoot Blonde Hair clips, meaning they are the classic style where the hair is sewn onto clips. I never have an issue with them - but BFB recently revamped all of their clips and all of their extensions are SEAMLESS now! It really is a difference and you will LOVE the change if you’ve never used seamless before. They lie SO flat.
I also have the Barefoot Blonde Hair Two-Piece set in “Sweet Cola”. The two-piece set is IDEAL if you have short hair. It’s only two wefts and just the perfect bit of volume. It also allows for more full hairstyles and braids with short hair, which makes a big difference when you have less hair to work with. When I first cut my hair it was a little shorter than the two-piece set so I had to make sure I placed them right to line up well with my hairline, but now that it has grown out a bit I have zero issue and they blend in perfectly. You can always have them trimmed by your hairstylist if you need and your hair is much shorter, but you still want the volume. The length on the two-piece sets is 14″.
In this below photo I’m wearing the two-piece set.
The photo below is “before” - I don’t have any extensions in:
This photo is wearing the two-piece set in “Sweet Cola”:
The two-piece is a less dramatic change in photos, but I can still tell when I’ve worn them or not in photos - and I always wish I did when I don’t wear them to shoot outfit photos! I just love the extra fullness and especially in person, sometimes my new short hair gets a bit stringy but when I’m wearing my two-piece set it totally negates that and I get the fullness it needs.
I will work on a YouTube video and maybe an Instagram highlight video on HOW I put in each set of extensions - I know that would be helpful! I think I do it a bit differently than most people do and it works better for me, but in the meantime you can reference THIS post on the BFB blog. They also have tons of helpful blog posts about extensions, so browse around while you’re there!
Another version of extensions you should know about is the BFB Up, ONE weft of hair you clip in and use for hairstyles like ponytails, buns, and braids that is 18″ long. I have never tried that one but if I ever do I’ll update this post with a review on that!
If you have more questions, please ask them in a comment or on my Instagram and I’ll update this post!
Oh and to be completely transparent, the company owners Amber and Dave are friends of mine and I’m lucky enough that they are so kind and have gifted me these extensions, I didn’t buy them myself. There was no expectation of posting about them though - I am just so impressed with the quality and I love them so I had to tell you guys all about them! I would have bought them with my own money and felt totally great about that purchase, had they not been gifted to me.
xoxo
