I guess since my baby is now 6 months old I should resume blogging, right? 😁 Truly did not mean to go so MIA, but that is life you guys and more to the point, that is life with a NEWBORN. And yes, it has taken me 6 months to get back into the swing of things.
I wanted to make sure I posted these photos because they mean SO much to me. Jessie Oberg reached out to me before I had my baby and we talked about doing newborn photos. She is located in Bluffdale, Utah which is pretty nearby me, so we thought it would be a great fit. Fast forward to after Isla was born, and I was basically in survival mode. She was born on December 29th and was in the NICU for a few days, so my head was not in photo mode. We got back home I think on the 2nd or 3rd of January, and I realized I had a message from Jessie on Instagram. She asked if I wanted to do the photos, because you really need to make sure your baby is less than 10 days old for the best results. Needless to say I was exhausted, in pain still from the birth, and had no experience driving anywhere alone with my baby (my husband couldn’t go with me at the time I needed to go.) So basically I was on the fence - in fact I almost cancelled but I just KNEW I would regret it if I didn’t make it happen, even if it was tough. Turns out it wasn’t as hard as I thought! I loaded sweet baby Isla up the car, packed our things, and we made our way to Jessie’s home in Bluffdale. While she was shooting Isla, I made myself presentable and did my hair and makeup for a few shots of the both of us. I’m so glad we got those at the end, they are so precious!
Jessie has a beautiful studio in her home in Bluffdale, and it is so comfortable and easy to just hand her baby and leave the rest to her! Of course I had to peek and I ended up doing some behind the scenes videos I know some of you saw. She is so kind and so great to work with. I can truly say that had we not worked together for trade, I would have happily paid her full price fee for these photos because she is THAT amazing. 100% you NEED newborn photos. If you’re local, go to Jessie in Bluffdale, Utah. If not, find someone good who is local to you - because you will never get that precious time back when they are just so brand new and teensy and precious. It goes SO fast, trust me.
Alright enough reading, on to why you’re REALLY here!
Dang husbands - I LOVE this photo but after I showed my husband he goes, “It looks like she’s sitting in your uterine lining!” And now that’s all I see… 😂 Why must they ruin everything?!
Thank you thank you to Jessie for capturing these adorable photos of my sweet Isla, I’ll cherish them forever!
