By now you’ve surely heard of ThredUp right? In case you’ve been under a rock, they’re an online shop for “women’s and kids’ high-quality secondhand fashion (like a well curated online consignment store) – with a range of brands from Madewell to Zara to Joie, always up to 90% off the original retail price”. I had the opportunity to try them out so I can tell you ALL about my experience!
My polka-dot box arrived in a few days filled with 5 pieces I picked out. I personally used their app, but they have a great website as well. I used my 40% off code for my first order (use code LJS40 until Oct. 1st) and ThredUp provided me with a $100 credit to shop. I found some SERIOUS scores people. You can see my full order details below, but I snagged a Rag & Bone shirt, a Kate Spade New York peplum top, Moschino Cheap & Chic trousers, a bright Ellen Tracy dress, and a Derek Lam top. You’re not going to believe how much I saved… (see the email below)
UHHHHHHH no biggie I just saved $729.55 on my order! Basically with ThredUp there’s no reason to shop designer new. You get the same quality and style for 90% off. Use the extra $$$ you save to go on a trip! (You’ll look great while you’re at it.)
Here’s my full details:
*ThredUp provided me with a $100 credit to do this review and I used a 40% off my first order code. Get 40% OFF your own first order using code LJS40.
Everything arrived with ThredUp tags, neatly folded in tissue paper in the nice polka-dot box. I would say the quality totally matches their “like-new” claims and I was pretty blown away at how inexpensive everything was. I HAD to pair the bright blue Rag & Bone top with the leopard pants, this outfit was basically made for me!

If you know me AT ALL you know I am the hugest fan of mixing high and low pieces. (My heels in this outfit are from Target, and they were on CLEARANCE!) Don’t worry, because ThredUp doesn’t just carry designer. You can grab some Old Navy denim or a Theory blouse, there’s something for everyone in every budget. I TRULY cannot get myself to spend $300 on a pair of pants, or $60 on a t-shirt, it’s just not for me. But when it’s 90% off I love that I can still get my hands on a designer piece, but without totally draining my bank account!
If you made it through this post without creating a ThredUp account, that’s amazing because I’d have been browsing for half an hour by now. 🙂 Go take a look and search for your favorite brands. I would recommend starting with Kate Spade, Anthropologie, Rag & Bone, Seven for All Mankind, or Theory. Also DON’T FORGET to use code LJS40 to get 40% off your first order!
What do you think, have you shopped consignment before? What’s the best deal you’ve ever scored?
xoxo
