I’ve been waiting forever to tell you all about my living room design with Decorist! I have never had any talent for decor or interior design. I have no clue what goes together, and when I try to actually decorate something, I’m totally tired of the design a month later and wonder what I was thinking! Enter Decorist, an online interior design service that came to my rescue with my new living room…

After deciding which kind of design service fits your needs, you send them photos of your space, dimensions, inspiration photos of things you like, existing furniture you have to work with, etc. Then you’re matched with one of their professional interior designers, and they take it from there! I worked with Abbe Fenimore, she is one of their Elite designers meaning she has 5+ years experience. She went back and forth with me and helped address every little thing I wanted for the room, and fit my style perfectly!

Here is my initial design, we tweaked it a bit based on pieces that I could find and credits I wanted to use at certain stores:

They even sent me a layout so I knew exactly what to do and where everything went!

We ended up with the PERFECT design for my husband and I. We didn’t have much space to work with in this tiny living room in our 1 bedroom apartment, but somehow with everything put together and a cohesive design, it feels twice as big and bright. I was also worried because my husband didn’t want anything too “girly” or feminine, we wanted a space that would work for both of us where we would feel comfortable. Abbe totally nailed it!

Part of the service involves their shopping list.
